Rockwell Automation, the world’s largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation, opened its new offices in Barcelona, Spain, on May 25, at the Hexagon Glòries building of the 22@ district.
The opening was attended by Albert Castellanos, Secretary for Business and Competitiveness of the Government of Catalonia and CEO of ACCIÓ, and Susana González, President EMEA at Rockwell Automation.
The Rockwell Automation Catalan team is already working at the new offices located at 121 Álava Street, close to Glòries square. For this project, Rockwell Automation had the support of ACCIÓ, the agency for business competitiveness of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Rockwell Automation occupies 1,300 square meters on the first two floors of the Hexagon Glòries building, which has 9 floors in total. This property covers 14,700 square meters and accommodates two additional innovative, market-leading companies. The 9th floor includes a space shared by the three companies for presentations or events. Rockwell Automation has an additional office in Barcelona, at the World Trade Center, for a team that provides industrial cybersecurity services globally.
“We are really excited about the expansion and the opening of our new office space in Barcelona,” Susana González said. “Our footprint reflects the business growth in the country and in the region as well as the cultural diversity across Rockwell Automation and the communities we operate in -- with 14 languages spoken by our team.
“From this office, which also represents our company’s focus on sustainability, we support customers not only in Iberia, but across Europe, Middle East, and Africa manufacture in a more agile and sustainable way.”
Albert Castellanos applauded that Rockwell Automation has come to the most technological district in Barcelona because “it is one of the leading companies in the automation sector worldwide and its presence is a driving force for other companies, helping innovation reach the entire Catalan business ecosystem.”
For Castellanos, "Rockwell Automation's investment is another example of Catalonia's ability to attract the best talent and move towards reindustrialization."
This new office space allows Rockwell Automation to adapt to the modern hybrid work environment.
José Paredes, Managing Director at Rockwell Automation Spain, said that “Rockwell Automation needed a different space in Barcelona that suited a more flexible business structure. This new space also hosts the European digital sales and business development department; a team devoted to improving the customer experience by means of tailored sales and service support.”
The new offices in Barcelona include rooms for meetings, video conferences, and product demos for both software and hardware. These spaces are ideally suited for meetings with customers and partners, or to host training courses.
This work environment at the Hexagon Glòries building is in line with the Rockwell Automation mission of making the world more productive and sustainable, training new generations on smart manufacturing and offering dedicated support and value-added services.
