Nodes

A node is any object, object type, variable, variable type, custom data type, or method in a project. Nodes in projects are organized into information models.
Nodes in
FactoryTalk Optix
represent various data types and relationships between nodes in a standardized way that is compliant with the OPC UA specifications.
FactoryTalk Optix
enables you to access, visualize, and manipulate data within projects and allows for interoperability between different components, devices, and applications. For example, you can use
FactoryTalk Optix
in such complex scenarios:
  • Read and write project nodes with other
    FactoryTalk Optix Applications
  • Read and write project nodes with third-party applications compliant with OPC UA
  • Produce and consume alarms and events in other applications through the OPC UA Alarms and Events (A&E) protocol
  • Manipulate projects with NetLogic (C#) or external OPC UA clients
