Delete programs from the organizers

Use the
Delete
command to remove programs from the
Controller Organizer
and the
Logical Organizer
. Deleting a program from either organizer also deletes it from the other organizer. Deleting a parent program also deletes its descendant items.
The
Controller Organizer
does not show the logical hierarchy, so the descendants of a program or phase appear at the same level under a task. The
Logical Organizer
displays the logical model and shows the descendants of a program. A warning message appears when you try to delete a program with descendants in the
Controller Organizer
because that organizer does not show the descendant relationships.
These restrictions apply when deleting a program:
  • When online, the controller must not be locked or in Hard Run mode.
  • The program and all of its descendants must not have safety restrictions.
  • The program must not have redundancy restrictions or security restrictions.
TIP: if FactoryTalk Security is enabled, FactoryTalk Security permissions are required to create and delete items in the
    Controller Organizer
    and the
    Logical Organizer
    .
To delete a program or phase:
  1. If online, you must unschedule the program first.
  2. Right-click the program, and then choose
    Delete
    .
  3. Choose
    Yes
    to confirm the deletion.
    TIP:
You can also delete a program by selecting it and then using one of these methods:
    • From the
      Menu
      bar, select
      Edit
      >
      Delete
      .
    Press the
    Delete
    key.
