Reference Information by Connection

The
By Connection
 tab shows the cross references to the tag or module, specified in the
Name
field, via connections. Each line represents a single connection between two endpoints. Use the
By Connection
 cross reference tab to view connections for the tag, parameter, members, module, or bit specified in the
Name
field.
Cross Reference information:
  • Reference - Shows the connection endpoint for the selected tag or module.
    • ->, <-, <->, ?
    • Identifies the direction of the connection.
    • -> the connection is from the tag.
    • <- the connection is to the tag.
    • <-> the connection is to and from the tag.
    • ? the connection is not valid.
  • Endpoint
    • Identifies the connection endpoint. Use the direction arrows (->, <-, <->) to determine the direction of the connection to the endpoint (from the tag, to the tag, or to and from the tag). To view tags referenced by alias tags, click the By Tag tab in the Cross Reference window. The
      By Connection
       tab shows only connections to or from the alias tag.
  • Usage
    • Shows the usage value for the tag listed in the Endpoint column.
To reference information by connection:
  1. Select the connection. The
    Tag Editor
     appears.
  2. Select browse in the
    Connection
    column of the connection to edit. The
    Connection Configuration
     dialog box opens. Configure the connection's beginning endpoint.
