Delete items from the Logical Organizer

Use the
Delete
command to remove an item from the
Logical Organizer
. Deleting a parent item also deletes its descendants.
TIP:
If FactoryTalk Security is enabled, FactoryTalk Security permissions are required to create and delete items in the
Controller Organizer
and the
Logical Organizer
.
If the controller is online, you must be sure that the necessary preconditions are satisfied before you can delete the item.
Item
Preconditions
Program or program used as a folder
When online, the controller must not be locked or in Hard Run mode.
The program and all of its descendants must not have safety restrictions.
The program must not have redundancy restrictions or security restrictions.
Routine
The controller must not be in Remote Test or Remote Run and the routine must not be the Main, Fault, Prestate (equipment phase), or State (equipment) routine.
The routine must not be referenced by a Jump to Subroutine (JSR) instruction.
To delete an item from the Logical Organizer
  1. Right-click the item, and then choose
    Delete
    .
  2. Select
    Yes
    to confirm the deletion.
    You can also delete an item by clicking it and then using one of the following methods:
    • From the
      Menu
      bar, select
      Edit > Delete
      .
    • Press the
      Delete
      key.
