Add a language element to your routine

Add language elements to the routine window using the toolbars or the Add <Language> Element dialog box. (From the Ladder Editor, you can also assign quick keys.) No matter which method you choose, language elements are inserted or appended relative to the current caret location.
TIP: Whether the language element is inserted or appended depends on the insert state of the editor. Press Ctrl + I to toggle between Insert and Append modes. The current state appears in the status bar (APP or INS). The default mode is Insert mode.
To add a language element to your routine:
  1. In the <Language> Element field, type the name or mnemonic of the language element to add to your routine.
Notice that as you type, the language element list advances to the closest match. If you are not sure of the exact mnemonic for the element you wish to add, scroll through the list of available language elements, and select the appropriate choice. Note that there are no mnemonics for the Sequential Function Chart language.
    TIP: Select
    Show Language Elements By Groups
to sort the instructions by instruction group. To see a list of all instructions (including those that do not belong to a group), clear this check box and all instructions are sorted alphabetically.
  2. Once you have selected the language element to add to your routine, select
    OK.
    Select
    Cancel
to discard your changes and close the dialog box.
