Runtime Web UI overview

The Windows Runtime UI is split into seven sections:

Home

  • Device Information
: Once you have registered and connected your device, the
    Domain Name
    and
    Device Name
    fields are populated. The
    License Status
    is set to
    Undefined
    if no
    entitlement
is registered for that device Runtime.
  • Connection Status
: In this section, you can select
    Connect
    or
    Disconnect
Runtime to set it respectively offline or online.
This section shows whether your device is connected to the network and which users are currently connected to the device itself (it displays the domain/username and public IP address of any connected devices).
During the Runtime registration to a domain, copy the
    Anonymous ID
    and the
    Anonymous Password
    by clicking .
  • Request Assistance Status
: This section includes a button that changes its caption depending on status:
    • Assistance Requested
: An assistance request is currently pending or is currently being handled.
    • No pending assistance request
: There is no pending assistance request, or the requested assistance activity is closed.
NOTE:
It is possible that the identity of the device - the auth.bin file - has some issues. The file could be corrupted or the server address changed while the device was already registered in a domain.
In these cases the web application receives a notification error, the “Reset device identity” button is visible and the “Device registration error” toast is displayed:
Clicking on
Click for more information
button opens up a
Device registration error
dialog that explains with more detail the problem and the possible solutions.
