Module Properties - General for Peer Safety Controller

Use this tab to create and view module properties for a peer Safety controller.
On this tab:
  • Select the type of the module being created.
  • View the vendor of the module being created.
  • Enter the name of the module using IEC 61131-3 compliant guidelines.
    This is a required field and must be completed to prevent an error message when exiting this tab. An error message also shows when using a duplicate name or an invalid character. When exceeding the maximum name length allowed, the application ignores the extra character(s).
  • Enter a description for the module.
    Enter a description up to 128 characters. Use any printable character in this field. When exceeding the maximum length, the software ignores any extra character(s).
  • View revision information.
  • Enter a slot number for the module.
    Enter the slot for the controller module. For Safety controllers added as a peer, there must be an empty slot immediately to the right of the Safety controller to add the Safety Partner. Valid values for this field will always range from 0 to the chassis size minus 2.
  • Enter the Safety Network Number of the module.
    For the time-based format, the Safety Network Number automatically generates and displays here when creating a Safety project. When choosing the manual format, click dots (2) to access the Safety Network Number dialog to enter this number.
  • View the status the controller has about the module (only while online).
    This status
    Indicates
    Standby
    The transient state occurs when shutting down.
    Faulted
    Controller unable to communicate with the module.
    When have a Faulted status, the
    Connection
    tab displays the fault.
    Validating
    The transient state occurs before connecting to the module.
    Connecting
    The state occurs while the connection(s) are being established to the module.
    Running
    Module communicating and everything working as expected.
    Shutting Down
    The connections are closing.
    Inhibited
    The connection to the module inhibited.
    Waiting
    No connection to this module due to one of these reasons:
    • No connection from parent yet.
    • An inhibited parent.
    • A faulted parent.
    Offline
    On online connection.
