Function Block Diagram Editor
Use the Function Block Diagram Editor to create and edit function block routines.
The Function Block Diagram Editor provides both instructions and functions for constructing a routine. The instructions are function blocks that use a backing tag. Functions are similar to instructions but do not require backing tags, require less memory, sometimes execute more quickly, and take up less space in a function block diagram.
TIP:
Function Block functions are available only on

5580 controllersVertical and horizontal scroll bars appear in the Function Block Diagram Editor when the current sheet is too large to be viewed in its entirety within the routine window. These scroll bars apply only to the sheet that is displayed.
TIP:
To view different sheets within the same routine at the same time, open a second routine window, and navigate to the next sheet within that window.
TIP:
Program parameters in a routine can access program parameters of another program.
