Description
Slider
Use the slider to select via unit=% of Time, and notice that the numeric value in the Maximum Acceleration or Deceleration Jerk: status box updates accordingly as the slider is moved.
% of Time
The Unit="% of Time" is permitted for Jerk limiting only via the Instruction Faceplate.
And, because only Profile=SCurve lets Jerk control (feature also known as Programmable S-Curve), the units for programming Jerk limiting are more easily expressed in terms of % of Time, over the Position Units/s^3 entry.
The following are examples of this.
a MAM with Profile=SCurve Jerk Units=% of Time Acc/Dec Jerk=100% entire Move is SCurve (that is, Jerk Limited)
a MAM with Profile=SCurve Jerk Units=% of Time Jerk=0% entire Move is Trapezoidal (that is, No SCurve)
a MAM with Profile=SCurve Jerk Units=% of Time Jerk= 70% 35% Accel & 35% Decel of move is SCurve,
30% of move is trapezoidal.
a MAM with Profile=SCurve Jerk Units=% of Time Jerk=10% 5% Accel & 5% Decel of move is SCurve,
90% of move is trapezoidal.
Position Tolerance Box
In the Position Tolerance Box, values are entered for Actual and Command Position Tolerance values. See Choose a Termination Type in the online help or the Logix 5000 Motion Controllers Instructions Reference manual (MOTION-RM002) for more information regarding the use of Actual and Command Position Tolerance.
Actual
Enter the value in coordination units, for Actual Position to be used by Coordinated Motion instructions when they have a Termination Type of Actual Tolerance.
Command
Enter the value in coordination units, for Command Position to be used by Coordinated Motion instructions when they have a Termination Type of Command Tolerance.
Manual Adjust
Opens the
Manual Adjust Properties
dialog box. The Manual Adjust button is enabled only when there are no pending edits on the properties dialog.
