PBL timers, time stamps, snapshots

Use the
Advanced
tab on the
PBL Properties
dialog box to configure timestamps, overwrite settings, and triggering conditions for snapshots.
Configure timers, time stamps, and snapshots for Process Boolean Logic (PBL) instructions
  1. On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
    • On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
    • In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and select
      Configure <tag name>
      .
  2. Select the
    Advanced
    tab.
  3. Configure these settings:
    • Generate a controller timestamp when snapshot occurs
. Select this checkbox to enable a timestamp on each snapshot. The timestamp is based on the controller clock setting.
A snapshot captures the state of the instruction, including all input states, gate states, and output states for later use. Use snapshots for evaluating logic after a shutdown for capturing the state of the logic when it trips or shuts down equipment. This includes instances when the logic states change after the shutdown.
    • Allow a new snapshot to overwrite an existing snapshot without a snapshot reset
. Select this checkbox to allow a new snapshot to trigger before the previous snapshot is reset.
    • Save state to snapshot when
. Select conditions that trigger a snapshot:
      • Hold input transitions from 0 to 1
      • Output transitions from 0 to 1
      • Output transitions from 1 to 0
      • Requested by operator (enables snapshot button)
      • Requested by program command
  4. When online with the controller, monitor the
    Device state
    and
    Device issues
indicators at the bottom left of the dialog box:
    • Device state
. Displays the current device state depending on the value of the Out_Live parameter. Use the
      HMI
tab to enter text in the
Text to display when output equals 0
      and
Text to display when output equals 1
      boxes.
    • Device issues
      . Displays fault conditions:
      None
      , or
      Configuration error
      .
  5. Select
