Monitor Input and Output gates for Process Boolean Logic (PBL) instructions

Use the
PBL Properties
dialog box -
General
tab to monitor the Input and Output gates on Process Boolean Logic (PBL) instructions.
TIP: Use the
Advanced - Input gate
and
Output gate
tabs to configure gate settings.
To monitor Input and Output gates for Process Boolean Logic (PBL) instructions
  1. On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
    • On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
    • In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and select
      Configure <tag name>
      .
  2. Monitor this information for the eight Input gates and the Output gate.
    • Input label
      . The inputs for the gate.
    • Function
      . The function configured for the gate. Functions include AND, OR, XOR, M out of N, Set-Reset (latch), and Select (switch gate).
    • Value
      . The current numeric value of the input or output.
    • Inversion status
      . A circle appears for inputs that are inverted.
  3. When online with the controller, monitor the
    Device state
    and
    Device issues
    indicators at the bottom left of the dialog box:
    • Device state
      . Displays the current device state depending on the value of the Out_Live parameter. Use the
      HMI
      tab to enter text in the
      Text to display when output equals 0
      and
      Text to display when output equals 1
      boxes.
    • Device issues
      . Displays fault conditions:
      None
      , or
      Configuration error
      .
  4. Select
    Apply
    .
