Configure PPERM instructions

Use the
Advanced
tab of the
PPERM Properties
dialog box to configure the Process Permissives (PPERM) instruction.
To configure the PPERM instruction
  1. On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
    • On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
    • In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and select
      Configure <tag name>
      .
  2. Open the
    Advanced
    tab.
  3. Set the parameters:
    • Permissive Name
      . Type the text description of each permissive used. Only permissives with text entered appear on the
      Operator
      tab of the faceplate.
    • OK State
      . Select the state (OK to Run state) of the corresponding permissive.
    • Can Bypass
      . Select to indicate that the corresponding permissive can be bypassed.
    • Enable Bypass
      . Select to bypass the corresponding permissive.
  4. View the read-only parameters:
    • Device state
      . When the
      Logix Designer
      application is online with the controller, the indicator displays the current device state, such as Off, Pulse on, or Out of service.
    • Device issues
      . When the
      Logix Designer
      application is online with the controller, the indicator displays fault conditions, such as Feedback fault or I/O fault.
  5. Select
    Apply.
