Configure the Power over Ethernet ports

Power over Ethernet (PoE) provides electrical power along with data on a single Ethernet cable to end devices. Use the
PoE
view to limit the total power supported and configure the power management mode and power settings for individual ports. For the Stratix 5410 device, you can also set the priority of the power used by the port.
Prerequisites
  • The device is online.
To configure the PoE ports
  1. On the tab for the device, select
    PoE
    .
  2. In the
    PoE
    view, in the
    Mode
    column, select whether the power management mode is
    Auto
    ,
    Off
    , or
    Static
    .
    1. If
      Mode
      is set to
      Auto
      , in the
      Power Limit
      column, type a power level from 4 W through 30 W.
    2. If
      Mode
      is set to
      Static
      , in the
      Power Used
      column, type a value from 4 W through 30 W.
  3. For the Stratix 5410, in the
    Power Priority
    column, select whether the priority of the power is
    High
    or
    Low
    .
  4. In the
    Total Power Supported
    field, type a value between 4 W and 30 W to limit the total PoE power budget. The power source determines this value.
  5. Select
    Set
    to send the settings to the switch.
