Export the switch configuration

Once the switch configuration is uploaded from the switch to the project, the switch configuration can be exported as computer files. Depending on the model, the switch configuration may consist of a single config.text file or config.text and vlan.dat files. Use the
Save/Restore
 view to export the switch configuration.
Export
 is not available if there is no switch configuration to export.
Prerequisites
  • The device is online.
To export the switch configuration to files
  1. On the tab for the device, select
    Save/Restore
    .
  2. In the
    Save/Restore
     view, select
    Export
    .
  3. For Logix Designer in
    Export
    , browse to the folder where you want to store the configuration, enter a File name for the ZIP file containing the configuration, and then select
    Save
    .
    For FactoryTalk Design Studio in
    Export Device Configuration
    , select
    Export
     and then
    Next
     for each file to be exported. Select For FactoryTalk Design Studio in Export Device Configuration, select
    Export
    and then
    Next
    for each file to be exported. Select
    Close
    when finished.
TIP: The file is saved to your browser's
Downloads
folder.
