KPI Alerts

The KPI alerts are used to detect when a KPI threshold is breached and notify the user through the application. The KPIs are configured at both the
Asset
and
Component
levels. The following tabs are displayed in the KPI alerts:
  • Overview
  • Trends
KPI Alert Overview
In the
Overview
tab, there are three different sections available such as KPI Alert Summary, KPI Alert Action, and Work Order.
Threshold Configuration for KPI Alerts:
There are 3 sets of threshold limits, classified as a Low/Medium/High Alert Severity.

Criteria for Raising a KPI alert:
Following two conditions must be satisfied for a new alert to be generated for a new KPI alert.
  • One of the thresholds (high, medium or low) needs to be breached.
  • If there exists an Open Alert for the given KPI, the severity of the existing Alert should be different from the severity of the new potential alert.
Workflow for verifying the violation of thresholds and assigning Severity:
  • The High severity level threshold violation is checked first and if the KPI value is found to be above the upper limit or below the lower limit, the alert limit for KPI is deemed to be breached with severity of the alert being High. No further checks are done.
  • In case there is no threshold violation for highest severity level, the Medium severity level threshold violation is checked and if KPI value is found to be above the upper limit or below the lower limit, the alert limit for KPI is deemed to be breached with severity of the alert being Medium. No further checks are done.
  • In case there is no threshold violation for Medium level, the Low severity level threshold violation is checked and if KPI value is found to be above the upper limit or below the lower limit, the alert limit for KPI is deemed to be breached with severity of the alert being Low.
Frequency of KPI Alert Generation:
The frequency at which KPI alerts are generated directly corresponds to the frequency of KPI calculations. This means that if a KPI is calculated multiple times throughout the day, alerts associated with that KPI will have the potential to be triggered each time a calculation is performed.
Specifically, if a KPI is calculated four times a day, alerts for this KPI will also be checked and can be triggered up to four times a day, assuming the conditions for generating an alert are met each time.
In the
KPI Alert Summary
section, the user can view the details of the alert such as alert ID, description, status, trigger date, KPI name and description, and association.

section.
View History
In the
KPI Alert Action
section, with appropriate user privileges, the user can change the status of the KPI Alert Status, Add Comments, and Upload associated files.
The
Work Order Action
section allows for the manual and automated tracking of the associated Work Order required for the action of the alert. The user can manually create a work order number, change status, and add comments to the work order.
NOTE:
  • The work order is created automatically in the following scenario:
    • If the CMMS integration setup is configured with assets or components mapping and the integration status is set to enabled status.
  • The work order needs to be created manually in the following scenarios:
    • If the CMMS integration setup is configured without asset or component mapping or the integration status is set to disabled status.
    • If the CMMS Integration setup is not configured.
For manual work order creation, perform the following steps:
  • In the
    Work Order Action
    section, click
    Create Work Order
    .
    NOTE: The
    Create Work Order
is enabled only when the KPI Alert status is set to Investigation status.
  • Work Order No
: Provide the work order number for the alert.
  • Work Order Status
: Select the status from the drop-down list.
  • Comments
: (Optional) Provide the comments for the alert as required.
For automated work order creation using CMMS-Fiix:
In the
Work Order Action
section, click
Create Work Order
. The "
Work Order request has been successfully initiated for the alert. You will be notified when the work order is created in CMMS
" message is displayed. The work order is set to the initiated stage, and it is non-editable.
NOTE: The
Create Work Order
is enabled only when the KPI Alert status is set to Investigation status.
The work order request for the alert is initiated and sent to CMMS-Fiix. Once the request is acknowledged and the necessary action for the work order request is taken, work order details are updated automatically.
Trends
In the Trend, the user can view the Trend at the top and a sparkline view at the bottom. The user can change the date selection by using the selectors of 1/3/6 months, year to date [YTD], 1 year, and all. The user can use the sliding selector at the bottom to change the date selection.
The red horizontal lines indicate the configured KPI Alert thresholds of Low, Medium, and High for the Upper and Lower thresholds. The following table provides additional information on the thresholds and the abbreviations used in the graphic.
Hover over the trend chart to view the KPI value with the corresponding date and time details.
