Scenario#3

  1. Go to the machine where DataView is installed and add FTA Activation Service hostname (FQDN) and IP address in the
    hosts
    file located at
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
    folder.
  2. Ensure to create the certificate for FTA Activation Service in the same CA directory where certificates for FTASecurity are generated.
  3. Go to the machine where FTASecurity is installed and execute the following command to generate the certificates with FTA Activation Service hostname (FQDN).
    IMPORTANT:
    The following command is a single line command that appears in two lines. Please combine these two lines into a single line command and then execute it.
    create-certificate.cmd <FTA_Activation_Service_hostname (FQDN)> <ca-secret-password> <key-password> <trust-password>
    IMPORTANT:
    Do not use the word “password” as a password for generating keys and certificates.
    Refer to Table 4‑1 for supported special characters that can be used to create a password for the certificates.
  4. Copy the
    <FTA _Activation_Service_hostname>.p12
    file generated in DataView machine to the FTA Activation Service machine and configure FT Activation Websocket Service. Refer to
    Configuration
    section in “
    2.1.1_FactoryTalk Analytics Activation Service Installation and Configuration Guide for 4.01.00 DataView
    .
    IMPORTANT:
    After adding the new License restart the following services: FactoryTalk Activation Websocket Service and FactoryTalkAnalyticsDataView service.
    NOTE:
    The folders created during the installation of the product contain critical data. The system administrator must ensure that the proper permissions are set to these installation directories. Only the authorized user may have access to the data. It is the responsibility of system administrator who is extracting the files to keep them secure. This is to ensure that the sensitive and critical information is not shared between the users.
