Standard Mode Installation

Perform the following steps to install FTA Activation Service, FTA Security provider and DataView on same machine.
  1. Right-click the new
    FactoryTalkAnalytics_DataView_Installer_Windows-4.01.00.<build>.exe
     file and select [Run as administrator] to begin the installation.
  2. The Introduction screen box displays. Click [Next].
  3. After the wizard initializes the setup, the 'License Agreement' screen displays. Scroll down, accept the license agreement, and then click [Next].
  4. The 'Installation Directory Configuration' screen displays. Click [Next].
    NOTE:
    During upgrade, user can retain the default directory and this action will override the earlier folders and upgrade the DataView version.
    The 'Component Selection' screen displays and verifies the services that are up and running.
  5. Ensure that the [Certificate Generation] is checked and click [Next].
    NOTE:
    It is not recommended to use the older certificates.

  6. The 'Certificate Generation' screen displays. Define the following fields:
    • Hostname: Provide the hostname (FQDN).
    • Key Password: Provide the password for Certificates Key.
    • Confirm Key Password: Re-enter the password.
    • Keystore Password: Provide the password for Certificates Keystore;
    • Confirm Keystore Password: Re-enter the password.
      NOTE:
      Refer to Standard Mode for the list of the supported special characters that can be used to create a password. Note down these passwords.
  7. Click [Validate] to verify the provided details. The 'Validation successful' message displays if the details are valid.

  8. Click [Create] to generate the certificates. The 'Certificates generation completed' message with the certificates directory displays, click [Next].

  9. The 'PostgreSQL Configuration' screen displays. Define the following fields:
    • Database Hostname: Provide the PostgreSQL database hostname.
    • Security Database Name: Provide the Security database name.
    • DataView Database Name: Provide the DataView database name.
    • Database Username: Provide the Database username.
    • Database Password: Provide the Database password.
    • Database Port: Default port number is 5432. It is recommended to keep the default port number.
      TIP:
      User can refer the application.properties and dataimporter.properties files for the configuration details.
  10. Click [Validate] to verify the provided details. The 'Validation successful' message displays if the details are valid. Click [Next] to continue.
    PostgreSQL Configuration
  11. The 'FTA Security Configuration' screen displays. Define the following fields:
    • Username: Provide the username
    • New Password: Provide the password
      NOTE:
      Refer to Standard Mode for the list of the supported special characters that can be used to create a password. Write down this password, it is required to access FTA Security later.
    • Confirm Password: Re-enter the password
    • Port: Default port number for HTTPS is 9043. The user can change the port number. It is recommended to use the default port number.
  12. Click [Validate] to verify the provided details. The 'Validation successful' message displays if the details are valid. Click [Next] to continue.

  13. The 'Elasticsearch Configuration' screen displays. Define the following fields:
    • Elasticsearch Host Name: Provide the hostname (FQDN) of the machine where the Elasticsearch is installed.
    • Elasticsearch Cluster Name: Provide the existing Elasticsearch cluster name.
    • Elasticsearch HTTP Port: Provide the respective port number where Elasticsearch is running. Default HTTP port number is 9200.
    • Elasticsearch TCP Port: Provide the respective port number where Elasticsearch is running. Default HTTP port number is 9300.

  14. Click [Validate] to verify the provided details. The 'Validation successful' message displays if the details are valid. Click [Next] to continue.
  15. The 'FT Activation Service Configuration' screen displays. By default, the following fields are auto updated:
    • Keystore File: The location on the Keystore file.
    • Keystore Password File: The keystore file password.
    • Certificate Key Password: The keystore file password.
    • FT Activation Service Port: Default port number is 27100. It is recommended to use the default port number.

  16. Click [Validate] to verify the provided details. The 'Validation successful' message displays if the details are valid. Click [Next] to continue.
  17. The 'DataView Application Configuration' screen displays. By default, the port number for HTTPS is 443 auto updated. It is recommended to use the default port number.
  18. Click [Validate] to verify the provided details. The 'Validation successful' message displays if the details are valid. Click [Next] to continue.
  19. The 'Pre-Installation Summary' screen displays. Verify the following:
    • Product Name
    • Install Folder
    • Disk Space Information
    • Install Component(s):
      • Component Name
      • Component Version Numbers
      • Component Port Numbers

  20. Click [Install] to begin the installation. The installation progress screen displays.
  21. The 'Install Complete' screen displays. Hereafter the
    C:\RockwellSoftware\FactoryTalkAnalyticsDataView
     folder is called as
    <DataView_HOME>
     in this document.
  22. Click [Done] to close the installer.
