Change the user authentication mode

Change the default user authentication mode for the project to allow local
Windows®
users and Active Directory users to log on to the
FactoryTalk Optix Application
.
IMPORTANT:
If you use the Active Directory user authentication mode, Active Directory queries the groups associated with the users are and maps with the existing groups in
Project view
. For example:
  • A user belongs to a group in the model.
  • The same group exists in Active Directory.
  • In Active Directory, the user does not belong to the group.
  • The user is removed from the group in the model.
  1. In
    Project view
     pane, select the project node.
  2. In
    Properties
    , in
    Authentication mode
    , select the authentication type that allows specific users to log on:
    • Model only
      . Users you create in
      FactoryTalk Optix Studio
      .
    • Local only
      . Local
      Windows
       users.
    • Domain only
      . Active Directory users.
    • Domain and local
      . Active Directory and local
      Windows
       users.
    • Any
      . Users of any type.
  3. Select
    Save
    .
