Project view

Project view
displays the contents of the
FactoryTalk Optix Application
in a tree structure of folders.

Folders

Each folder has a dedicated icon and context menu. The context menu displays objects that you can create in that folder. Any subfolder that you create displays the same options as the folder on which it is based. You can create multiple versions of a folder.

Buttons

Project view
contains buttons for navigating the contents of the application. Some buttons appear on either the title bar of
Project view
or in the selected object.

Navigate backward
Go to the previously selected pane.
Navigate forward
Go to the next selected pane.
Split project view
Divide
Project view
into two panes.
Add
Add new
Create a node inside the selected node.
Delete
Remove the selected node and the nodes that it contains.
Lock
Lock the selected child node to hide it from
Project view
. You cannot edit locked child nodes.
Unlock
Unlock the selected child nodes to display it in
Project view
. You can edit unlocked child nodes.
Unlock
Open the selected object in the dedicated editor. Only certain object types have a dedicated editor.

Search
in
Project view
to search for and filter project nodes in the tree structure.
Item

Search
Filters the project nodes in the tree structure based on the search query.
Close
Displays if you enter a search query. Select to clear the search query.
Expand the available filters picker.
Collapse the available filters picker.
Indicates active filters. Expand or collapse the available filters picker.
