What is Rockwell Automation TechEd Tuesdays?
TechEd Tuesdays is Rockwell Automation’s online interactive training experience. The upcoming cycle will allow participants to explore our products and solutions from both a theoretical and practical perspective. Designed to support manufacturing and IT professionals from a diverse range of functions, participants can improve their knowledge of Rockwell Automation technologies, learn new skills, and then put everything into practice in flexible hands-on sessions.
What sessions will be offered at Rockwell Automation TechEd Tuesdays?
TechEd Tuesdays are ½-day sessions that will take place over a 5-week period. The program will cover five separate modules, each of which consists of one theoretical session with Q&A and one optional and flexible follow-up practical session via onCourse, our ground-breaking virtual hands-on lab experience.
These bite-size modules will cover a range of topics including:
- Smart Devices — Smart devices are integral components for smart machines and are a company’s first step in capturing operational data. They enable smarter, more informed decision making and act as foundation for smart systems and machines. These devices allow you to begin your digital transformation journey as everything starts with smart devices, which is why it’s so important to have a thorough understanding them.
- Smart Machines — Smart machines and intelligent equipment use digital technologies to move beyond conventional control, operation and maintenance paradigms. They can both deliver and translate data into insights that support better decision-making while also providing robust security and greater connectivity to your plant and supply chain networks. Learning how to optimise your smart machine performance is a valuable skill to have.
- Smart Systems — Smart systems deliver better business outcomes such as increased efficiency, higher throughputs, and greater product customisation. These industrial control systems are designed for simplicity and scalability and can help you achieve the outcomes you want in a cost-effective, sustainable way. Detailed knowledge of these smart systems can therefore help deliver fast ROI over a longer period.
- Process — Taking real-time data directly from a process is a key benefit of smart operations. However, if the data is not applied properly, these benefits are quickly lost. Understanding how to generate and implement actionable information means your Distributed Control System can provide contextual, actionable insights that improve decision-making and lead to greater efficiencies.
- IIoT Ecosystem — New technologies require new operating models. Smart manufacturing uses cloud-connected machinery to monitor production processes whereby machines can communicate with each other, integrate to reduce errors, improve workflow and share data. By focusing on your information technology, you can identify opportunities to incorporate those new technologies effectively and use data analytics to optimise your entire manufacturing process.
Who should attend Rockwell Automation TechEd Tuesdays?
TechEd Tuesdays is an interactive training experience designed for end users, system integrators, distributors, partners, machine builders and technical and sales personnel. It’s the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to further their career across the Smart Manufacturing industry.
How many people can attend a practical session?
Unlike previous cycles, capacity for the upcoming TechEd Tuesdays will not be an issue. Users can sign up to any number of modules they want to and then complete them at a time that best fits within their schedule during the week of that module. These self-paced sessions give you the opportunity to learn what you want, when you want, without being tied into particular time slots or days giving you greater flexibility over how you engage with the practical sessions.
Do I need any special equipment for any of the training sessions?
There will be no specific equipment needed to participate in any module. They only thing you will need is your laptop or computer and a stable internet connection.
What is the event language of TechEd Tuesdays?
Due to the nature of the event, all sessions and training will be conducted in English language only.
Will TechEd events be held as in-person experiences again?
Yes, while this second cycle builds upon the successes of the popular online event that ran last year, we still want to return to hosting in-person learning experiences again in the near future. While it still remains difficult to host in-person events, we do hope to restart running them again soon and we look forward to hosting our customers once more in Gothenburg in October 2022 for a future TechEd program.
