Runtime configuration

The Runtime is split into seven sections:
To save your configuration settings across each tab, select the
Apply
 button the top of each section. Once you click the button, a feedback message will display to confirm whether the operation was successful.
NOTE: If you select the
Apply
 button while in the
Local Connection
 section without making any changes, and the
Local Connection
 is enabled, you will be prompted to change your password.

Home

  • Device Information
    : Once you have registered and connected your device, the
    Domain Name
     and
    Device Name
     fields are automatically populated. The
    Entitlement Status
     is set to
    Inactive
     if no
    entitlement
     is allocated to that device Runtime.
  • Connection Status
    : Select
    Connect
     or
    Disconnect
     to set Runtime offline or online, respectively.
    This section shows whether your device is connected to the network and which users are currently connected to it by displaying the user's username and public IP address of any connected devices.
    During the Runtime registration to a domain, copy the
    Anonymous ID
     and the
    Anonymous Password
     by clicking .

  • Request Assistance Status
    : This section includes a button that changes its caption depending on status:
    • Assistance Requested
      : An assistance request is pending or is being handled.
    • No pending assistance request
      : There is no pending assistance request, or the requested assistance activity is closed.
NOTE:
A
Device registration error
 toast might appear at the bottom-right corner if the
auth.bin
 file is corrupted or the server address changed while the device was registered in a domain.
Select one of the following options:
  • Reset device identity
  • Click for more information
    : A
    Device registration error
     dialog window provides details about the issue and any possible solutions.

Settings

You can configure Runtime settings as follows:
  • Install USB passthrough
    : USB passthrough is an optional feature and the button might not appear if USB passthrough is not supported.
    • Uninstall USB passthrough
      : Uninstall any existing USB files and driver.
      NOTE: You must sign out to confirm this setting.
      NOTE: You might have to update the remote USB interface. To do so:
      1. Install the previous USB interface version.
      2. Click the related-button to install the newer version.
  • Reconnection Mode
    : Select whether the device should reconnect to remote access services after it restarts.
    • Never reconnect server at restart
      : Regardless of the Runtime status setting, Runtime does not automatically reconnect to the server upon restart and requires manual reconnection.
    • Reconnect server at restart if left connected
      : If the Runtime status is set to
      Connected
      , Runtime automatically reconnects to the server at restart.
  • Port
    : Select the port that Runtime must use to establish a network connection.
  • Server
    : Select a public network infrastructure or a private server.
  • Address
    : Enter the private server address to which the Runtime will establish a connection.
  • Import CA
    : Browse to and upload a Certification Authority security certificate for the private server.
  • Proxy
    : Configure a proxy HTTP or SOCKS5 that Runtime must use to establish a network connection.
    1. HTTP
      : The HTTP Proxy server forwards HTTP requests. Add the server proxy address and port to which you want the Runtime to connect. You can set an authentication username and password.
      NOTE: The set password is hidden behind dots.
    2. SOCKS5
      : The SOCKS5 Proxy server forwards TCP and UDP packets. Add the server proxy address and port to which you want the Runtime to connect. Authentication through username and password is not supported.
    3. None
      : No proxy server is used to establish a Runtime Internet connection.

VPN

  • Select networks to connect with by VPN
    : Select which network will become reachable by the remote user once a VPN connection is established through the Runtime.
  • VPN reserved IP pool
    :
    • Reserve a static IP pool
      : Select this option and set an IP addresses range if your network uses static IP addresses and you wish that the IP addresses within a certain range are used for VPN connections.
      You can add IP addresses with their related
      Mask
      .
      NOTE: If the IP addresses entered in the
      From
       and
      To
       fields do not match with the specified subnet mask, an error message appears below the
      Mask
       text field. If the entered IP addresses are not valid, the text fields turn to the error state and become red. The
      Add
       button activates if the input is valid.

Local Connection

  • Enable local connection
    : This tab allows you to configure the Local connection.
    NOTE: See Local connection for further information on this subject.
    NOTE: The set password is hidden behind dots. Click to see your password. Once you set your password and refresh the page, the password is hidden and the icon is disabled until you change the password.

Internet Sharing

  • Select network to provide access
    : Select the device from which you want to share the Internet.
    NOTE: See Internet Sharing for further information on this subject.
  • Allowed MAC Addresses
    : Share Internet with the subnet of the device network selected in
    Select network to provide access
    .
    • Any
      : Select
      Any
       to provide Internet connection to all devices connected to the device network that you previously selected in
      Select network to provide access
      .
    • Use Allow List
      : You can add any MAC addresses to grant them Internet access through the device network that you previously selected in
      Select network to provide access
      . The
      Add
      button activates if the input is valid.

Log

  • Runtime Log
    : View all the Runtime-related activity logs. For example, such as server connections.
  • Connection Log
    : You can export the connection log for a given period of time by specifying a
    Date from
     and
    Date to
     date. The logs exporting process produces a .csv file that includes the activity logs recorded during any remote assistance sessions.
If you set a specific location where to store any exported file, a file named
connection-logs.csv
 is saved there. You can then rename the file and choose a different storage location if needed.
The recorded operation logs include information about each device connection:
Data Type
Description
Username
Name of the user that performed the connection.
Domain name
Name of the domain to which the device is registered.
Public IP
Public IP address of the remote device.
Device name
Name of the device.
Connection time
Date and time of the connection to the device.
Disconnection time
Date and time of the disconnection from the device.
Operation
Operation performed on the device.
Timestamp
Date and time of the operation.
