PDOSE settings
Use the
General
tab on the PDOSE Properties
dialog box to:- Monitor the instruction.
- Enter online commands.
- Configure dribble and preact quantities and delivery tolerances.
To monitor and configure settings for PDOSE instructions
- On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
- On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
- In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and selectConfigure <tag name>.
- Monitor these values:
- Device state. When theLogix Designerapplication is online with the controller, displays the current device state.
- Device issues. When theLogix Designerapplication is online with the controller, displays fault conditions.
- Delivery. The percentage of product delivered, from 0 to 100.
- Quantity delivered. The quantity of product delivered in engineering units.
- Remaining to deliver. The amount of product to be delivered to reach the set point.
- Delivery rate. The delivery rate in engineering units over time.
- Configure these parameters. The action is immediate if the setting does not need to be confirmed by the operator. If the setting requires a signature, this will enforce security from the HMI and disable the setting from the Logix Designer dialog.
- Dribble quantity. Sets the amount of product to deliver in dribble rate.
- Preact quantity. Set the preact quantity to account for material in the pipe, time for equipment to stop, and delays in measurement, scan, and communication.
- Delivery tolerance over setpoint. Set the tolerance limit above the setpoint. Similar to a deadband, the tolerance allows delivery to exceed the setpoint without, for example, raising an alarm or triggering an auto-adjustment.
- Delivery tolerance below setpoint. Set the tolerance limit below the setpoint. Similar to a deadband, the tolerance allows delivery to fall below the setpoint without, for example, raising an alarm or triggering an auto-adjustment.
- When online with the controller, use these command buttons. The action is immediate if the command request does not need to be confirmed by the operator. If the command request requires a signature, this will enforce security from the HMI and disable the command from the Logix Designer dialog.
- Clear quantity. Reset the quantity count to zero.
- Stop totalizer. Stop the totalizer count.
- Start totalizer. Start the totalizer count.
- Check tolerances. Check to determine if the quantity delivered is within the specified tolerance of the requested delivery quantity (setpoint).
- Stop flow. Stop the product flow.
- Start flow. Start the product flow.
- Bump flow. If the quantity delivered is short of the setpoint, useBump flowlike a jog to top up to the requested quantity.
- Reset. Clear shed latches and cleared alarms.
- Physical/Virtual.Switches between physical and virtual operation. When virtualization is active, the instruction continues to generate outputs to control equipment, but the flow quantity and rate inputs are ignored, and a simulated flow rate is used. The instruction can emulate a rate at which to dribble and a rate at which to deliver when running in virtual.WARNING: To avoid starting equipment during virtualization, the downstream equipment instructions must be put in virtual as well so that their outputs are held in the safe state. Failure to do this can result in personal injury or equipment damage.
- SelectApply.
