Trends
Trends allow you to view sampled tag data over a period of time on a graphical display. Tag data is sampled by the controller and then displayed as point(s) on a trend chart.
To use trends, first create a trend in the
Trends
folder of the Controller Organizer. Once created, open the chart for the trend to configure the trend and to display trend data. The trend chart provides a graphical display area with the Trend Control Bar at the top and pop-up menu access to the Trend Chart Properties. The Trend Chart Properties are used to configure the chart display settings, configure the tags to trend, and configure the sampling period. At least one tag must be configured for a Trend to run. The sample period may be configured to something other than the default 10 Milliseconds. The sample period is the rate at which data will be sampled on the controller.Once a trend is configured, a trend can be run and stopped using the Trend Control Bar. If the controller goes to an offline state while a trend is running, the trend is stopped.
