DataView Configuration

  1. Go to
    <DataView_HOME>\FTADataView\dataview\config
     folder and open the
    application.properties
     file in a text editor, in administrator mode. Change the following properties in the
    application.properties
     file.
    FTActivationService Configurations:
    • fta.hostname = <HostName>
    • fta.port = 27100
    • fta.ftaMapStoreFilename = ${catalina.home}/FtaMapStore/ftamapstore.bin
  2. Stop and start the FT Activation WebSocket Service.
  3. Go to the Start menu and open the FactoryTalk Activation Manager.
  4. Click [Get New Activations], provide the serial number and product key.
  5. Click [Validate Activation] to validate the provided license key.

  6. Click [Download Activation] to import the license.

  7. Click [Print] to download PDF copy of Activation and save it in a secure location.

  8. Go to [Find Available Activations] and click [Refresh Activation] to view the new license added to the Available Activations table.

    IMPORTANT:
    After updating the License, it is recommended to stop and start the services.
  9. After the new License is added, stop the following services:
    • FactoryTalk Activation Websocket service
    • FactoryTalkAnalytics DataView service
  10. Start these services in the following order:
    • FactoryTalkAnalytics DataView service
    • FactoryTalk Activation Websocket service
  11. Open the DataView application in the browser.
