Add or edit an NAT instance

You can add or edit a NAT instance for a Stratix 5410 switch.
Prerequisites
  • The device must be online.
To add or edit a NAT instance
  1. On the tab for the device, select
    NAT
    .
  2. In the
    NAT
    view, do one of the following:
    • To create a new NAT instance, select add .
    • To edit an existing NAT instance, select edit.
  3. In the
    Instance Name and Ports
    view, do the following:
    1. In
      NAT Instance Name
      , type a name for the NAT instance.
    2. In
      Port Type
      , select the port type.
    3. Select the checkbox next to the ports you want to enable for this NAT instance.
    4. Select
      Next
      .
  4. In the
    Associate VLANs
    view, do the following:
    1. Select checkboxes to associate translated ports to one or more VLANs.
    2. Select
      Next
      .
  5. In the
    Gateway Address
    view, do the following:
    1. (optional) In
      Public Gateway Address
      , type an address.
    2. (optional) In
      Private Gateway Translation Address
      , type an address.
    3. Select
      Next
      .
  6. In the
    Translations
    view, do the following:
    1. Select add to add an empty row.
    2. In
      Device Location
      , select the location of the device network.
      A location of Public Network will map traffic from public to private addresses through the firewall. A location of Private Network will map from private to public addresses through the firewall.
    3. In Private IP Address, enter the IP address that is behind the firewall.
      In Public IP Address, enter the IP address that is exposed to the public.
    4. In
      Type
      , select the type of entry to add to the translation table, and then enter values in
      Count
      or
      Subnet Mask
      as needed.
      • If you selected
        Range
        for
        Type
        , in
        Count
        , select the number of addresses to include in the range. If the device location is private, then the range applies to the Private IP Address.  If the device location is public, then the range applies to the Public IP Address.
      • If you selected
        Subnet
        for
        Type
        , in
        Subnet Mask
        , select valid subnet masks for the addresses to translate. If the device location is private, then the subnet mask is applied to the Private IP Address.  If the device location is public, then the subnet mask is applied to the Public IP Address.
    5. Select
      Finish
      .
  7. Select
    Set
    to send the settings to the switch.
