Assign a precedence value to the ring supervisor

Use the
Advanced Network Configuration
 dialog box to assign a precedence value to the ring supervisor.
To assign a precedence value to the ring supervisor
  1. On the tab for the device, expand
    Device Level Ring
    , and then select
    Ring X
    .
  2. In the
    Ring X
     view, select
    Enable Supervisor Mode
    .
    TIP:
    The configuration takes effect immediately.
  3. Select
    Advanced
    .
  4. In
    Advanced Network Configuration
    , in the
    Supervisor precedence
     field, enter a precedence value between 0 and 255.
    TIP:
    • Configure the desired active ring supervisor with a numerically higher precedence value as compared to the back-up supervisors.
    • The precedence is transmitted in beacon frames.
  5. (optional) Enter values for these two parameters:
    • Beacon interval
    • Beacon timeout
  6. Select
    Set
