Get an activation from another Internet-connected computer
Use the following procedures to get activations for a computer that is not connected to the Internet. You will need a way to transfer a data file between the computer that is not connected to the Internet and the computer with an Internet connection, such as a USB device or a shared network drive.
You will need a way to transfer a data file between the computer not connected to the internet and the computer with an internet connection, such as a USB device or a shared network drive.
The process involves these steps:
- Step #1. At the computer without Internet access, create or update the data file and copy that file to a removable storage device.
- Step #2. At a computer with Internet access download activations to the removable storage device.
- Step #3. At the computer without Internet access, use the removable storage device to move the activations to the computer.IMPORTANT:For CodeMeter activations, complete these steps in sequence without making any other updates to the activations on the disconnected computer. Errors can occur if you copy the data file in step 1 and use it multiple times, in step 2, to create the activation file. The CodeMeter update file (filename.WibuCmU) that is applied or imported on the disconnected computer must be created with a CodeMeter context file that matches the current contents of the CodeMeter container.
